Whats new with the 2018 Toyota Sequoia

2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport Exterior Front Fascia

Did you know that the Toyota Sequoia received a mild refresh for the 2018 model year? It wasn’t a widely announced fact, as it was outshined by the introduction of the first-ever 2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport, but it did happen! We thought we’d dive into what the refresh entailed by going over what’s new in the 2018 Toyota Sequoia.

Standard Lights

For starters, every 2018 Sequoia model received a host of new, standard LED lighting. These new standard LED lights include the headlamps, daytime running lights and fog lights.

Other Features

In addition to the lights, each trim level – SR5, Limited, Platinum, and TRD Sport – also received its own, unique grille design. The lower front bumper was also redesigned. On the interior, the instrument panel was upgraded to a new design as well. Finally, the Sequoia received automatic emergency braking and the Toyota Safety Sense P package.

Exterior Color Options

The other update for the 2018 model year Toyota Sequoia is its selection of exterior colors, which added three new options to choose from. These new colors are Midnight Black Metallic, Shoreline Blue Pearl, and Toasted Walnut Pearl.

TRD Sport

The Sequoia TRD Sport supposedly tautens the big rig’s handling with standard Bilstein dampers and TRD anti-roll bars at both axles. Appearance tweaks include a TRD-specific grille and front bumper, 20-inch black wheels, smoked rear tail lights, black mirror caps, and TRD Sport badges. It is offered in white, gray, or black.

More Information

When properly equipped, the 2018 Sequoia can tow up to 7,400 pounds of payload for rear-drive models or 7,200 pounds for four-wheel-drive models. There’s 18.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and it can be expanded to 66.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 120.1 cubic feet behind the front seats.
