Toyota Safety Connect

Toyota Safety Connect - Theft, Collision, and Emergency
Protection, Coverage, and Safety for Toyota Vehicles in VT

Since the company's inception in the early-mid 1900s, Toyota has prided itself on many important facets of the automotive industry and philosophical life:  making inexpensive, quality vehicles; making the cleanest, most fuel efficient vehicles possible; advancing the company through dedicated and happy customer bases; and perhaps most importantly to the Toyota drivers the world over, never quit advancing safety measures.

We have discussed to great length the STAR Safety System initiated by Toyota Motors that makes formerly "high-end" safety equipment standard on all new Toyota vehicles such as anti-lock brakes, stability control, and traction control, and we've also talked about the new Toyota Care program, a complimentary two-year or 25,000-mile scheduled maintenance package that comes standard on any new or leased Toyota vehicle.  And though these two systems already offer supreme unmatched safety on every single model bearing the Toyota symbol, instead of resting on these accomplishments Toyota now offers a third choice to buyers who deem it necessary.

Handy Toyota of St. Albans, VT - Vermont's first Toyota dealer, serving Burlington and South Burlington -  would like to introduce you to the newest safety system from Toyota:  Safety Connect.  With Safety Connect, the STAR Safety System, Toyota Care, and the legendary safety that is the Toyota namesake, drivers will find themselves and their loved ones wrapped in a cocoon of diamond-strength bliss.

Automatic Collision Notification

So says the old adage:  it's better to be safe than sorry.  Toyota Safety Connect's automatic collisions notification system takes this theory and peace of mind to a whole new level.  In the event of an airbag deployment - ranging from a bad enough fender bender to a severe collision - the Safety Connect response center will be contacted automatically.  When this happens, a Safety Connect representative will attempt to contact the vehicle's occupant(s) which means your guardian angel will be nearby 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  After the Safety Connect representative has attempted to reach the occupants, emergency services will be called and a dispatch is requested and directed to the vehicle's location.

Stolen Vehicle Locator

Due to new and used Toyota vehicles having such a high success rate to due reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, and the like, a simple fact is true:  they get stolen more frequently by sheer volume than any other vehicle.  This isn't a flaw in Toyota's design either, mind you, however statistically as the biggest automotive manufacturer in the world there are just more Toyota's on the road.  In fact the Camry was once the most stolen vehicle, and with 14 out of 15 years as the top American car purchased, it makes sense how that happens.

But with Toyota Safety Connect, that won't happen, and criminals beware:  Toyota Motors is on to you.  With the stolen vehicle tracking system in the Safety Connect package, if your Toyota is stolen and a police report is filed, the 24/7 response center is notified and they will assist the police or other authorities in locating the vehicle via the Toyota's GPS.  By reducing the time between theft and recovery you can rest assured the damage to your Toyota vehicle will be minimal and the ensuing insurance fees will be too.  Further, when criminals see the Safety Connect logo on the Toyota's glass you can bet they'll think twice!

SOS Emergency Assistance Button

Not only will the guardian angel that is Toyota Safety Connect's automatic collision notification system be monitoring your vehicle during any time of crisis, but Toyota Safety Connect subscribers can call for emergency assistance at their own discretion via the SOS button.

Located in most vehicles where the courtesy lights and moon roof controls would be, the SOS button contacts the 24/7 response center and agents can dispatch emergency services to the vehicle's location.  This can be applied to a variety of worst case scenarios:  everything from flat tires, medical trouble, and even criminal activity can be thwarted with this excellent device.

Roadside Assistance

We'll admit it's not nearly as bad as a automotive theft or medical problem whilst driving, but a flat tire or empty gasoline tank still makes you pretty darn mad.  With Safety Connect, customers can rest assured that Toyota will ride in on a proverbial white horse to save the day.  Drivers who purchase Safety Connect can expect several services with the roadside assistance promise including a jump start, towing, fuel delivery, flat tire changes, and more.  Basically it changes a major inconvenience into a quick pit stop.

Since Toyota Care's introduction, one question we've heard a lot around Handy Toyota's 39 South Main Street, St. Albans, VT  05478 location is as follows:  if roadside assistance comes standard with Toyota Care, why do I need to pay for more?  The simple answer is that as great as Toyota Care is it covers the first two years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first).  That means even on a simple short term 36,000-mile/3-year Toyota lease an owner would still have a full year or 12,000 miles without the roadside assistance.  Further, this is only a quarter of the Safety Connect plan's benefit, so don't let that dissuade you.
