The employee spotlight has been nothing if not well received.  As those of you who have viewed the monthly staff segment on our website know full well, we initially started interviewing the Handy Toyota employees as a way for you to learn about your future Toyota sales consultant or service and car repair technician, or in other words to simply give you a fresh look at someone you normally equate to all business.

Along with this early concept and indeed following through the first few months of spotlights, one thing became abundantly clear:  Handy Toyota is not a Fortune 100 company with thousands or even hundreds of employees.  In the back of our minds we always knew that we would have to regurgitate some of the Handy employees, and that time has come.

Almost a year ago in November of 2010, we looked at one of our "up and coming" sales stars, Kyle Ward.  As mentioned, we knew we would have to follow up with our staff.  So what made the selection for August 2011's employee spotlight so easy?  For no other reason than the aforementioned up and comer, Kyle Ward, having blossomed into one of the premier sales consultants Handy Toyota and indeed handycars.com has to offer.

Kyle started working here in May of 2010, and it quickly became apparent that he had a knack for selling Toyota cars and used cars to all sorts of people:  Vermonters, New Yorkers, Massachusetts folks, and he even has a few clients from as far away as Minnesota and beyond, coming from the far reaches of our country to do business with Kyle.  Wondering why that is - as if the shining and numerous online reviews customers have written don't speak for themselves - I asked him.

"Well here's what I've learned in my short time here" Kyle told me.  "First of all, you're never done learning.  There are obvious things like new cars, new models, annual updates and the like, but there's always more to learn about all the other aspects of each car and each customer.  Everyone is different, that's the second thing.  I don't use the old school mentality that 'this car is for you because I think it is.'  Instead each customer knows what they want and there is a car that will fit them, and it's my job to match those two up.

"This leads me to my third big thing, and that is, to repeat myself, the customer knows what they want.  In today's game, a someone shopping for a Toyota can get 150 different quotes from different dealers, and they're all likely to be competitive.  So why try to fool anyone?  In the days of eCommerce, the car business is so transparent... and that's where I come in.  I want my customers to have a FUN, memorable experience; and I want that experience to be one that they'll want to repeat and spread the word about.  So far I've been pretty successful with this mindset."
