Intel comes to Toyota

The Blue Man Group; the "dum dum duh dum" tune; blazing fast computer processing.  What do these things mean?  Intel, and you'll be happy to know these things, in a chip form, are coming to Toyota's infotainment products.

In case you don't know what the newly coined phrase "infotainment" means, it's exactly what the strange word looks like:  information meets entertainment.  As a point in case I give you Toyota's Entune...

The bottom line is that the desktop computer or personal computer (PC)/Mac market is dwindling.  As humanity moves along the crazy train of "I want need it now" at alarmingly quickening speeds, the days of the Jetson's-esque future and implanted mobile telephones seems further and further from science fiction and gets increasingly close to ho-hum reality.  Within a year - yes, in around 365 some odd days - mobile devices ranging from BlackBerry to Android...

Toyota's Entune - what is that, a new planet?

Yesterday, October 17, 2011, I posted a question on Handy Toyota of St. Albans, Vermont's Facebook page that asked "what do you think of the new Entune?"  Though only three of the 800 plus of you out there answered the question, the results, lacking scientific merit or not, were disturbing to say the least.  Here were the available answers:

  2. Meh...
  3. Not a fan
  4. What's that, a new planet?

A quiet week for the Blogmeister

A couple weeks or months ago I had posted a blog and Facebook post to Handy Toyota's blog and page respectively regarding the coming of a new system to Toyota cars called "Entune."  At the time, Toyota Motors themselves were remaining tight-lipped regarding this new feature, and as far as the public is concerned there is hardly anything worth mentioning.
