Letters for Soldiers

It's hot.  Most people don't speak your language.  You're running out of food and other essential supplies.  You haven't seen you wife and kids - perhaps the biggest reason for your present situation - in months.  Every morning you wake up reluctant to open your eyes, hoping that the dream nightmare that's plagued you for what seems like eternity was really just that.  But of course it's not.  And all you want?  To just know that someone, anyone, cares.

You're a soldier of the United States of America.

The auto world converges in Las Vegas

I would suppose that many of you don't know anything about the Digital Dealer conference, but suffice to say it's one of the biggest annual conventions (and I've heard some claim it is the biggest) in the entire world as far as the automotive industry and online dealerships go.  This is quite an honor to be a part of as you'd imagine seeing as the best and brightest in the industry...

Back in February, we at Handy Toyota of St. Albans, VT published a blog about Toyota's dedication to automotive safety amongst today's youth and how they were teaching young people how to be better drivers, ultimately awarding those deemed the best young drivers with prizes ranging from donations to new cars and more.  This past month, Toyota once again made a contribution to the same sort of young driver education program, once again...

Remember MLK

Those of you who view handycars as one entity and therefore read both of our blogs, subscribe to both, or even view both on our separate Handy Toyota and Handy Chevrolet Facebook pages may realize that we try to keep things separate.  This isn't a business decision such as we want to seem at odds with each other; quite the contrary is true in fact, and we have a unified team that works quite…

High Definition or High Clarity of Sound?

Recently while doing a test for the right to remain certified under the Toyota Motors USA for the Toyota brand, Toyota introduced their new radio technology.  This new technology, for whatever reason, is being dubbed high definition, or HD Radio.  This is being marketed by iBiquity Digital Corporation.

As we all know or at least were told years ago, there is a certain quality that makes HDTV high definition; though it does have better sound…

With the devastation in Japan due to the earthquake and ensuing tsunami and nuclear leakage, the world of Toyota Motors, the automotive world at large in terms of both vehicles and parts, and indeed many other industries have been sweating over what's next.  Will we have parts to build Toyota Corolla sedans this summer?  Will we be able to sell the amount of Toyota Prius hybrid vehicles we've grown accustomed to?  And what…

Toyota cars, long synonymous with safety and the never ending pursuit at more of the same, has taken a step in the right direction where children--teenagers in particular--are involved, but releasing the names of ten teenagers that have been named as Toyota Motors' winners of the Heads Up! and Toyota's own Toyota Teen Driver programs, a scholarship that awards those ten teenagers deemed the safest drivers in the United States.

An Early Friday Blog From the GM

I am getting an early start today because there are many things that will take me away from Handy Toyota as the day progresses.  Hopefully we will have a stretch of weather that will provide sunshine and no rain.  By all accounts, many of our fellow Vermonters are dealing with flood conditions the likes of which they have never experienced.  Let's hope the worst of this is behind us.

When I left the house…

B-ball, Baseball, Gas, and Sunshine

In just eight short days the "Boys of Summer" take the field to begin 2011's MLB season, and while the professional ball players the world over get ready to roll, I began my own venture into baseball land this past Sunday, marked by my (official) grand entrance into a fantasy baseball league.

The draft took place at Mug Shot's, a bar in Staten Island, NY.  My son and I left Vermont at 4…
