Coupling Cargo Space With Safety

Last Saturday I posted a blog ("If Gas Isn't Your Primary Concern, Maybe Safety Is;" click here to view) regarding the annual safety awards as issued by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and how Toyota Motors, as always, performed quite well.  In fact, Toyota earned the "top safety pick" in the following five categories:

  • Large cars (2011 Toyota Avalon)
  • Small cars (2011 Toyota Corolla)
  • Midsize SUV's (2011 Toyota Highlander)
  • Minivans (2011 Toyota…

If Gas Isn't Your Primary Concern, Maybe Safety Is

I just posted a blog not too long ago regarding gas prices rising and how we at Handy Toyota have five different new Toyota models sitting on our lot right this very moment that are at or above 30 miles per gallon.  But it occurred to me that this might not be your concern; I'm not saying that you may not worried about gas prices at all, but maybe you'd rather focus on…

Gas Prices Got You Down? Drive a Toyota!

There's one thing our staff at Handy Toyota knows is a giant no-no in the automotive industry of 2000 and beyond:  trying to fool the customer.  Let's face it folks, the internet has changed the auto sale industry and made it more transparent than ever, and car dealers in VT and in fact the world over that don't understand this will soon be out of business.  Heck, by time I finished writing…

Gas, Knicks, and Voting - Things That Are On My Mind

As the situation in the Middle East unfolds we realize that gas prices will likely be affected by this activity but naturally it won't sway on the favorable side for us consumers.  $4 per gallon gas prices by summer looks like it will be a reality, so now would be a good time to review your household budgets and see what we can allocate for gas on a weekly or monthly basis.  If you?

The Return of the Celica?

The latest Toyota Sports car news has been set on the Toyota FT-86 concept, said to be the new Celica by some syndicates.  This sporty Toyota vehicle is currently in the conceptual stage, and is said to be a co-developed effort with some folks who make nothing but sporty, Subaru.

The idea behind the Toyota FT-86 concept is a low cost sports car that bears the well known quality and the safety of Toyota Motors.  With a predicted manufacturer suggested asking price said to be around $20,000, the current concept Toyota FT-86 features a sloped roof hatch back with…

Buxom Women at NADA... Really?!

Forgive me if this blog comes off as a little preachy but I feel compelled to state my piece about this.  I will warn you that I am going to be overly PG-conscious, but I cannot say that the ideas herein may not cross over into PG13 territory.  I will try my hardest to remain graceful throughout the proceedings, but any crossing of the rating lines will strictly be due to the subject at hand…

Toyota Entune - Turning Smartphone-owners Into SmartCar Owners

A couple weeks or months ago I had posted a blog and Facebook post to Handy Toyota's blog and page respectively regarding the coming of a new system to Toyota cars called "Entune."  At the time, Toyota Motors themselves were remaining tight-lipped regarding this new feature, and as far as the public is concerned there is hardly anything worth mentioning.

Finally on February 18, 2011, Toyota pulled back the curtain on the program--at least…

Change is in the Air--In More Ways Than One

Another week has come and almost gone.  The warm weather of the past two days is a welcome preview of what awaits us in just a few short weeks ahead, and you can see the stress brought on by the severe winter weather we have been experiencing on the faces of all around us.  Even though we are about to go back into an extended period of cold weather this all too brief respite has…

Town Meeting Day Follows This Warm Weather

Winter has taken its toll and I am beginning to feel like an aging athlete at the end of a long season:  very beat up.  However, this blog is ill timed to complain of the frigid temps outside because as of today, Thursday, it's beautiful outside.  When I see water dripping off the ice-covered roof, I know nature is getting rid of winter's mess.  Hopefully for everybody's sake it will be a…
