A dummy's guide to safe winter driving

Last winter, I would have never been able to write this blog.  I test drive the new Toyota vehicles, used cars, and new Chevrolet vehicles found at the two handycars.com dealerships - Handy Toyota of 39 South Main Street, St. Albans, VT 05478 and Handy Chevrolet of 699 Highgate Road, St. Albans, VT 05478 - but a test drive in a $40,000 vehicle that you don't own is a far cry from the leased…

Is a Tundra hybrid in the works?

Now here's some news that's both shocking and not shocking and very welcome to hear:  Toyota Motors will apparently be finishing a full development cycle for a new hybrid vehicle that we previously haven't mentioned:  the Tundra hybrid.

This project was spawned from Toyota's recent agreement with Ford Motor Company to collaborate on a hybrid propulsion systems and/or technology, and the plan would likely see the Ford roll out a…

The Toyota 86 - why it will be great

It seems whenever I excitedly bring up the topic of the Toyota 86, also known as the Subaru BRZ, Toyota GT-86, Toyota FT-86, Scion FR-S, or Subyota-Toyobaru twins (as you can see its gone through the proverbial name-wringer), it always gets shot down for not being fast enough. I've heard it called many things during these times from a chick car to flat out stupid and everything in between, and I always wonder what...

2011 was a good year for Handy Toyota of St. Albans, VT

All things considered it was not a bad year here at Handy Toyota, even if we didn't move out of our 39 South Main Street location.  Heads up new Toyota vehicle swaps, our decided reign as Vermont's used Lexus sedan emporium, and incredible foresight during a time when the date that Toyota would resume full production was uncertain enabled us to weather the storm and, believe it or not, come out well ahead…

Prius c to be unveiled at 2012 Detroit Auto Show

Yesterday we brought you pricing on two of the fan favorites in the 2012 Prius and 2012 Rav4, but Toyota Motors isn't done quite yet...

Apparently Toyota is set to release its Prius c onto the unsuspecting masses attending this coming year's 2012 Detroit Auto Show, and all indications point to a compact Prius by size but not features.

As Motor Trent puts it, "if the Toyota Prius hatchback is the alterna-Camry, the…

2012 Rav4 and 2012 Prius pricing announced by Toyota

Get ready Rav4 and Prius fans (of which there are large quantities!), because the 2012 model year is on its way and pricing has been released!

Sorry to tease you, but let us not forget why this delay occurred.  The disaster in Japan this past spring was a monumental one indeed, one that was so profound in fact that it hurt our economy in America as Toyota dealers, a car parts store in Vermont, a…

CNET.com reviews the 2012 Toyota Prius v hybrid

As you know if you're reading our blog, Handy Toyota of St. Albans, VT has become the northern New England headquarters for the all new 2012 Toyota Prius v.  We have already sold one, had four, and have shown ample test drive footage on our YouTube page, Facebook wall, and Twitter stream, making us, and forgive me for puffing our collective egos, the aforementioned Prius v headquarters in Vermont.

But what do the people think of the all new Prius v hybrid?  We at Handy Toyota can tell you how great it is all day long, but at the…

Holiday time at Handy Toyota

I am on my way to the building site to meet with the site super to review a couple of details.  The project is coming along very nicely.  Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, site workers, and masons all working at the same time towards a common goal is a sight to behold.  The building and site are really taking shape now and we finally have temporary heat inside.  Now that we have this capability, on bad days…

The 2012 Toyota Venza gets a few new trims

I find it odd that people call the Venza a niche vehicle, although at the same time I do realize why.  It's long, wagon-like, and definitely holding onto the station wagon, grandma-driver kind of feel.  That is, of course, until you actually drive one.

Even the 2010 and 2011 Venzas are quite a treat, and it's a variety of things that makes it so.  The 20-inch alloys, the low profile tires, the tap-shift…
