Seven days until Thanksgiving and there's so much to do in preparation for the annual festive meal at our home for all the members of our immediate family. It's a great deal of work but the pleasure we derive from it is immeasurable. Now that we have grandchildren in the mix it makes the holidays a "very" special time of the year. We have two at three years old, Faye and Charlie and Sammy at twenty one months and last but certainly not least Marie who will be a year old in late winter. They are the absolute light of our lives and it is so wonderful to have them all together. That said, being grandparents is neat because at the end of the day their parents have to deal with all of the elements of child rearing that are tedious and less fun.
Giving this concept of Thanksgiving some thought it becomes very clear that we all have so much to be thankful for. It is so easy to get into a mind set of this and that perhaps is not the way things should be in our personal lives but it takes only a few seconds of watching the local, national or international news to realize that we have it pretty good. God has certainly blessed us with the opportunity of living in a part of the world that offers us so much. Compared to most, we have our share and then some. As each day passes I realize more and more that we are blessed.
It is our hope that you and your family have a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the day and thank God for all that we have.
Always the best!
